360° Oil Paintings

During my time at university before I had access to sophisticated VR systems, I tried make my paintings immersive in any way possible. Below are some paintings I submitted for my degree work, that explore the theme of the urban park. These are huge panoramic oil paintings, some spanning three metres on canvas, that I then digitally manipulated to be viewed in 360° view. I chose to explore parks because I believe the landscape design of parks can give us an insight into human behaviour, and thus can be places of reflection. My paintings try to reflect this, adding my own perception of the human-nature relationship through use of saturated colour, cartoon-like shapes and smooth textures.
